Business Development Manager—Energy
GEM Energy is seeking a self-starting, entrepreneurial, business development manager to grow our energy offerings in the eastern half of the United States with a focus on the central/upstate New York area. We are looking for a deal creator that comprehends the varying components necessary to develop energy projects with a focus on solar and other distributed energy resources. The candidate must be capable of assuming primary responsibility for coordinating and advancing energy deals from origination to close. Willingness and desire to establish and develop relationships with various stakeholders and engage with administrative and regulatory officials in New York and other areas in the eastern half of the U.S. is a must.
—Originate customer opportunities in the Commercial & Industrial sector of New York and other areas in the eastern U.S.
—Engage essential stakeholders and become actively involved in a variety of energy-focused programs and associations
—Build and maintain customer relationships in New York and other areas in the eastern U.S.
—Understand and be able to communicate the financial sale
—Understand basic finance and how to structure a complex energy deal
—Communicate and coordinate with others on the energy team to advance the sale to close
—Coordination of owner, asset owner, development team members, internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, state and local officials
—Electrical rate load profiling for business development
—Work closely with other solar team members to develop budgets, control costs, and be part of the solar design team
—Have the desire to cross sell other existing energy offerings such as CHP and energy storage
—Be willing to be part of a team that is always looking for the next advanced energy offering to help our customers reduce their operating spends
