The Organization: Solstice Initiative (https://solstice.us/solstice-initiative/) is an innovative 501c3 nonprofit that empowers traditionally excluded communities towards a just and inclusive clean energy transition. Solstice was founded on the belief that every American household can be powered by affordable renewable energy, regardless of income level, race, ethnicity, homeownership status, credit score, or any other factor.

The Position: Solstice Initiative seeks a community-focused, energy justice champion to be Executive Director. The Executive Director has the extraordinary opportunity to play a leading role in shaping America's clean energy future to be equitable for underserved communities across the country. They will pilot new development models and document results for the solar industry to learn how to build solar projects that genuinely work for low-income and BIPOC Americans—audiences traditionally left out of conversations about America's clean energy transition.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, a highly respected, diverse group of leaders in the climate and clean energy space, and oversees an exceptional and growing team that consistently punches above their weight. Direct reports include the Program Director, Development Director, and Data Scientist. Solstice Initiative is experiencing an exciting period of growth, and the Executive Director will work with and leverage the expertise of this committed, high-functioning team to develop the organization’s second strategic plan and implement future strategic planning processes that help define the direction of the organization, establish priorities, and identify funding needs.
