NYSEIA and its member companies sent a letter to Speaker Heastie and Governor Cuomo in support of Bill S.752/A.6420 to increase the tax credit for solar energy equipment, raising it to $10,000 from $5,000 for projects placed in service on or after September 1, 2019. Solar energy is a key technology for controlling air pollution and protecting public health in New York. It is also an important part of our response to climate change. Yet the cost to purchase and install solar energy often remains higher than many New Yorkers can afford. By reducing these costs, we will greatly accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy.
