A coalition of 12 clean energy and sustainability groups wrote to New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie to express support two bills (S.1003/A.6160 and S.1004/A.6242) that would allow municipalities to create programs allowing conditional building permits and self-certification for building permits. These programs would alleviate long permitting timelines and thus reduce soft costs for rooftop solar projects across New York State.
