Event Description
The US solar sector is facing massive delays with many projects currently on hold and more in the planning phases being pushed back to 2024 and 2025. The ongoing investigation by the department of commerce looking into China’s alleged circumvention of US trade tariffs has left the industry in limbo. China made 80% of the worlds solar panel supply in 2018 and the majority of US solar development is dependent on this supply.
This event will look at what the pause on supply has done to the project finance markets and investment climate for solar and energy storage. Developers and financial institutions alike will be sharing their thoughts as well as details and business models of their current projects and those being planned. Other questions surrounding the PPA markets and the legal status of energy storage will be addressed as well as a macroeconomic look at the potential future supporting policies from a Federal level. All eyes are on the preliminary results of this investigation due to arrive in August and we will be bringing together all the key players to discuss their plans post results.
