It’s past time New York harnessed the power of the sun, and Zachary Dufresne is ensuring his NYSEIA members take advantage of the opportunity. Gov. Kathy Hochul has set a framework of distributing 10 gigawatts of solar power, enough to power 700,000 homes, by 2030—although Dufresne believes that could be bumped up to 12 gigawatts. With 1 gigawatt of community solar installed so far, Dufresne wants to see Con Edison expedite credits to solar customers so the state can meet its goals.
